The most powerful Religious ritual in Christianity is the partaking of the Eucharist. I find the sacrament of the Eucharist as one of the most powerful ritual since it is upon which all the other ritual arises from. It symbolizes the divine life of Christians and the unity between man and God. The Eucharist signifies the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon which the Christian faith is based as manifested by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Of all the other ritualistic practices of the Christian, Exorcism or healing is the most off-putting ritual. Exorcism tends to lacks credibility in the current scientific world with sure alternatives.
Funeral ritual helps the survivors of the deceased to come into terms with their loss. In addition, the ritual gives them emotional support as they indulge in what the culture or religion finds most appropriate. In some religions, the funeral rituals assure the survivors of a possible future reunion as in the case of Christianity. Moreover, the Catholic Church offer ritualistic prayers to the dead and plead for mercy on their behalf from God. In order to show respect to the dead, the survivors stop their normal works and give themselves some time to mourn the dead. Others celebrate in honor of the dead.
The marriage ceremony is one of the most powerful ceremonies in any religion. Marriage involves entering into a covenant with one another and sealing it with an oath to remain together in eternity. The vowing ritual is the most significant and the most critical during marriage. Each of the parties involved vows to remain among others faithful, and to love each other in all conditions. Such an oath indicates total submission to one another for entire life.
