Two of America’s top companies to work for are Google and the Boston Consulting Group. Depending on which field one desires to find a job in, both companies are a pleasant choice, provide a great working environment and make the employee enjoy the workplace.
According to Fortune magazine, Google takes first place when it comes to the best companies to work for in 2014 . Google’s culture is trying to predispose employees, expose them to benefits such as fitness areas and numerous cafeterias, and create an international open working environment . Google’s philosophy is to ‘create the happiest, most productive place in the world’. A high CEO rating based on employee votes shows that workers are satisfied by the management of the organization. Success depends on innovation and collaboration, two key factors for Google that are driven by the strong workplace culture. Thereafter, striving to manage one harmonious team turns out to be more effective, although the management tries to position themselves more like people who guide rather than hierarchical employers.
If at Google the environment is freer and more flexible for employees, in the Boston Consulting Group the workplace is more business oriented and serious. However, this is not an obstacle for workers to be extremely satisfied with the conditions that the company provides them with. To begin with, people who work in the BCG are very motivated and hardworking, and are constantly exposed to travelling and collaborating with managers. This makes it easier to unite employees and board representatives, and manage them effectively. Additionally, many benefits come with the hard work such as 100% health care premiums .
In conclusion, both Google and the BCG know how to satisfy and reward their employees which stimulates them to continue working harder and to put even more effort into their daily activities. Having a stable work culture and environment is beneficial both for the firm and the people working for it. Furthermore, with a balanced corporate culture, it becomes easier for the management to be more effective, and to harmonize the corporate culture with the organization’s culture as a whole.
