Aside from typical workplace installations and requirements, Googlers are entitled to a broad range of workplace conveniences a Millennial would expect at home: cycling, beekeeping, frisbee and foxtrot. As well, Google's culture is an open one which enhances peer-to-peer communication as opposed to hierarchical one in a relaxed ambiance of cafés. Typical of a search engine giant, visual flash on "Our Culture" page displays different moods, benefits and amenities Googlers enjoy in New York, London, India, Australia, Ireland, Japan, China and elsewhere.
For Great Expectations, Google is a company of achievement, mobility and ambition. This is stated, in fact, on Google's "What We Believe," respectively: "It’s best to do one thing really, really well," "You don’t need to be at your desk to need an answer, "and "Great just isn’t good enough". Quality is emphasized over anything else which is manifest in continuous improvement of services such as Gmail and Google Maps. Mobility is maintained in Google's open culture by offering innovative applications and solutions which makes accessible anywhere, any time. Google's ambition is manifest, moreover, in her ceaseless efforts to not just meet user needs but to anticipate them as well and hence redefine new standards for existing solutions.
For Need for Speed, "Fast is better than slow." As a search engine company, Google's dedication to users is manifest in her ceaseless development of her algorithms in order to speed up search process and minimize response time.
For Social Networking, Google's cafés and open spaces are indeed a perfect instance of how a company manages her workforce's communication on- and offline. If anything, Google can best be visualized as a group of Googlers who are always connected. The emphasis on openness and connectedness – manifest not only in user applications and ERP solutions but also in office and café design – is a great proof of Google's blended culture of professionalism and socialization.
For Extreme Office Makeover, finally, Google's open space, again, and office and café design speaks eloquently of Google's revolution in office space makeover.
