The group progressed on very well from day one. After the formation of the group and receiving the assignment, we agreed on the day and venue for out first meeting. The group member arrived punctually. We unanimously agreed that Antony assume the leadership of the group. After that, we divided the work among ourselves. After that, we agreed on the when to meet next for the compilation of the work.
Each person took a particular role aimed at making the group work apart from the core business. As mentioned earlier, Antony was the team leader, I became the secretary. There was an organization leader who called to remind us of the meeting. The rest assumed normal membership. We also came up with rules of engagement in the group. The rules specified the duties of the each member and the consequences of failure to abide by the rules. Each person signed on the first day agreeing to the guidelines. The leader communicated well making every requirement explicit. The other members also raised their concern appropriately thought out the group meetings.
I learned that communication is critical in the organizations of a group. Each member understood his role and worked properly and, therefore, there was no replication of work or coalition of duties. The solving of problems through communication is also essential as it improves the cohesion of the group. I also learned that in the initial stages, each member was not sure of what to expect, and only good communication could solve such a challenge. The work process of a group proved very useful since each member brought his or her contribution that we compiled. Each member completed all their work in time.
