Lifepoint Health Inc. Reports Examples
Introduction
The modern day healthcare industry is dominated by a number of for-profit companies in the US. Although, every business intends to maximize its profits irrespective of the industry it belongs still there are few examples of balanced social results and high goodwill in each industry. In the healthcare industry, LifePoint hospitals have done extremely well on the front of commercial success and they have also maintained the adherence to community welfare compliances. Their recent alliance with Duke University health system is just another step in expanding the highly reliable healthcare services. The LifePoint Inc. is one among the top 10 healthcare companies in Fortune 500 firms and is (undoubtedly) my desired firm for the remainder of my term.
Rationale behind choosing LifePoint Inc.
Motto, HR policies and work culture: Found in 1997, Brentwood, USA, the LifePoint hospital chain has almost 60 campuses spanned across 21 states. Their target segment is rural, semi-urban and remote locations where they are mostly the sole healthcare facilitator in the community. Their motto behind rendering the services is “Making communities Healthier” and they stick to their service model of providing affordable high-quality healthcare services close to home (Proxy Statement, 2015). The hospital has strict compliance to hiring standards when it comes to licensed physicians and trained staff to provide highly reliable services. Their work culture invites those passionate healthcare professionals who are eager to work in remote and rural locations. As per working environment and possible scope of growth, the most convincing fact regarding the company is that the ‘Modern Healthcare’ magazine has ratified the boost in net income for LifePoint hospitals with ideal cost controls and newer deals onboard.
Annual reports, expansion plan and vision for performance: The proxy annual reports 2015 for stockholders meet specifies a 21.9% rise in yearly revenues and an 18.1% rise in operating profit, leading to 28.7% hike in adjusted Earnings per Share (EPS). The company aims at ratifying $4.5 billion revenues for financial year 15-16 (Proxy Statement, 2015). Their expansion plans are driven by the strategic alliance with Duke University Health System and are highly focused towards developing a national model for transforming the healthcare quality (Business wire, 2015). The vision for the group is shaped in terms of developing healthcare facilities which set new paradigms of reliability, quality, efficiency, accessibility and affordability for remote locations in the country. The joint venture with Duke University will be utilized to incorporate continuous quality improvement measures in the field of patient safety and innovation in service quality. Apart from this, the company has a strict policy of compliance towards the ethical code of conduct in health care industry (Code of Conduct, 2012).
Conclusion
Prima facie, LifePoint Inc. has attained a rare state of a profitable business model in the healthcare industry with rigorous compliance to the ethical standards and a continuous improvement driven expansion plan. Further, their motif centered on rendering high-quality health services to rural locations and their joint venture with Duke University is a possible explanation for their community welfare plans. Also, the HR policies of such a rising business focus on hiring individuals who have compliances with stringent government norms regarding healthcare industry. Finally, it is clearly evident that an HR professional like me has been earnestly awaiting the opportunity to work for such a business in which not only the stockholders but also the stakeholders are benefitted at all fronts.
