Master Controversy Won't Deter IBM Chief

IBM is the largest technology providing service company in the world and has since a year the sponsor for the Masters event has been IBM. IBM has sponsored the four main golf annual tournaments and the major controversy in this regard is that IBM chief is a female and since past eighty years Masters has the policy of not allowing female members. I believe women must be allowed membership of the private club, and they should be allowed to join in due to many reasons. Even though the past four CEO’s of IBM were granted membership of Masters of Augusta, Victoria Rometty was not included in the list of newly assigned members which range around 300 of them (Sudeep, 2012).
As mentioned earlier that women must be allowed membership of Masters of Augusta provided that they are able to play and follow the same rules as that followed by male members. One of the main benefits for the club to allow female members is to come out of the controversy and issue of stereotyping against females. It is important for such a prestigious reputable brand that it should assign female members with strict testing as required for male members and should be made to follow all the rules and regulations that male members have to follow The second benefit of female members is the competition, they can give to male members that increase the interest in the game, especially when the club and the members are not used to having the female competition around. The third major benefit is that the top executives of companies who have their male colleagues as members of Augusta can meet up with them and enjoy golf game. This helps in improving the relationships among both male and female executives (Sarah, 2012).
