Basketball shoes today come in all kinds of styles and colors. The designs are super eye-catching and some of the shoes are amazingly expensive. I am surprised that basketball shoes were not for sale with lots of colors and styles to fit everyone’s taste until 1984. Why were the names of the styles Jim Morrison, the Haight street and Geoff McFetridge? Who is Geoff McFetridge? Did Morrison and McFetridge wear the shoes? Those are the kind of questions I have. I thought the styles would be name after really famous basketball players. It seems strange to name basketball shoes after a street. Maybe the colors and mix and match style of the first design had something to do with psychedelic colors. The super great quality is nice. All the shoes for people to buy should have very good quality. (139 words)
Nike Vandal sounds like someone’s name. Now Nike is very famous but when I first started reading the page with the photo of the shoe, I thought that maybe they were named after a person. The look of the shoe is strange because of the wrap-around ankle; maybe it looked better when the wrap-around and the shoe were the same color. The shoe strings make the shoes look really old-fashioned. The shoes are really good advertising for Nike especially since a rock band wore them in a music video. The rock band that wore them in the video was giving Nike free advertising that people saw every time they watched the video. Nike is written on the ankle wrap-around, the tongue and the back of the shoe on top. Plus the Nike symbol is on both sides of the shoe. Anyone who wears Nike is still wearing advertising.
