Outstanding Senior Essays Example

The title of Outstanding Senior is a very important and meaningful one, with a lot of connotations attached to it. An Outstanding Senior is responsible, caring, outgoing, intelligent, resourceful and dedicated, among other things. As such, I believe I would be an ideal candidate for Outstanding Senior. I am incredibly dedicated and committed to my schoolwork and academics, and show a tremendous amount of school spirit (as member of the school spirit squad). I carry this through with my love of athletics, performing at the varsity level in both track and XC. As captain of the XC team, my goal is to lead my teammates to victory, and offer them guidance and wisdom as best I can provide. I take a vast number of challenging classes, and have achieved the status of National Merit Scholar – no small feat considering the delicate balance of school and extracurriculars I attempt to maintain.
Outside of the school, I try to participate as much as I can in the community, giving back in multiple ways. I am active in the Boy Scouts, taking a leadership role there as well, and perform a great deal of community service through the Interact Club and beta club. Not all of my work is volunteer, however; I also have a part-time job in a restaurant, learning the ins and outs of interacting and operating in the workforce. This job in particular has taught me many things about responsibility, punctuality, money management and customer service – things that should serve me well in the outside world after graduation. Because of these outstanding efforts both within school grounds and out in the community, I believe I would be a perfect candidate for the title of Outstanding Senior.
