There is a hydrologic term in this paragraph that is incorrect. Identify the incorrect term and determine the correct term. Discuss the commonalities between the correct and incorrect terms.
The wrong hydrological term in the paragraph is aquifers. The accurate term to be used in its place is aqueduct. Both these terms relate to supply and storage of water. For the aquifers, it refers to the layer of underground rock that holds groundwater. Water can be abstracted using wells. Aqueducts are manmade structures that are used in abstraction and conveyance of water from distant locations to cities. Both these terms are used when describing issues of water sources. Aquifers store water underground whereas the aqueducts transport water. In terms of flows, aquifers main consistent of undergoing the flow while the aqueducts are surface water flows.
West without water reading just answer: What Can Past Droughts Tell Us about Tomorrow
Most of the ecosystems that have been inhabited by man are experiencing over-exploitation of water resources with little efforts done on water sustainability. It increases the risks and vulnerabilities of some of the disastrous effects the droughts have caused in earlier years. Furthermore, with the global climate change, climatic patterns are expected to change, and this may be an important factor in water sustainability planning. Snow melts serves as the in source of water in the California area. Since climate change has resulted to an increase in melting the ice caps in the Polar Regions, it may as well affect how snow in the California areas melts. As such, lack of proper planning may result in wastage of water resources that may be helpful in the drier periods.
