Panera Bread is a chain of bakery-cafes that is operating in the market since the year 1991. Ron Shaich is the founder and one of the CEOs of the company. Panera Bread represents a strong company with a strong company’s culture and values. The mission and purpose of Panera Bread states: “a loaf of bread in every arm”. Thus, the company wants to cover as many regions as possible and to offer their high quality foods and services to people, while creating value to the employees and to the society (Panerabread.com).
Panera Bread keeps growing from year to year, and we can observe it from looking at the stock prices of the company. Currently, the stock price of Panera Bread is a bit over $160, while in the year 2010 it was $79. Thus, the stock price of the company has almost doubled over the last five year, which indicates successful performance of the company in the industry. Moreover, the projections are that the company will continue to grow in the following year (Nasdaq.com)
Currently the Panera Bread is operating 1880 bakery-cafes on the territory of United States and in Canada (as of the year-end 2014). Thus, the company’s main general target market in the population of America and Canada. As far as Panera Bread is operating in 45 states in U.S., there are still several states to explore in future and to introduce their concept (Panerabread.com).
Panera Bread is functioning as a corporation, which, in turn, is a member of Limited Liability Company. Thus, Panera Bread can issue stocks and at the same time, it has the protection of operating under LLC, which means that the owners will not be responsible for the debts and losses of the company (Long).
The major words that the marketing department of Panera Bread implements in its life is ‘high quality’, ‘organic’, ‘trendy’, ‘old-fashioned’, ‘healthy’, and ‘yummy’. Those words represent main marketing purposes that help to promote the company within the society and to respond to the emerging customers’ needs and modern culture trends (Sloan, 2011).
In terms of employment, Panera Bread is providing various benefits to its employees, such as life insurance, employee discount program, competitive pay, etc. The job position I would like to pursue in Panera Bread is ‘Catering Coordinator’, which will help me to develop sales and marketing skills within the food industry (Simplyhired.com). I am passionate about quality and very dedicated to this sphere of business. Working in marketing department in Panera Bread can provide various benefits and advantages for my future career growth.
