Islam as said in the readings is a well-ordered system of defined sets of postulates which details its religious conducts, as well as its basic principles. All of Islam’s ideologies roots from its fundamental principles. From the arrival of Muhammad and to the last of all the prophets, it has been their mission to spread the teachings of Allah and make a connection with the Divine being. It is in them to guide people to obey Him.
According to Maududi, in his Political Theory of Islam, it is in question why there are people who refuse to believe in one god and why the prophets insist this belief to people. Apparently, this refusal of some people to believe in one god takes form as man thinks of himself as god. This desire hinders some to accept the teachings of the prophets. When this desire root in one’s mind, man’s greed and lust for power will push him to see himself as god and will regard himself as superior than all other beings.
Those who aspire to be on top is said to take two ways to act. First are those who has the power over people and who can force themselves and directly claim being god. Second are those without the means to overrule, however they plot schemes to sway people’s beliefs. They plant fear and doubt on people’s mind and in return shows themselves as someone who can help them in their dilemma. This hunger over power of men and this illusion of dominating and an all-powerful human being becomes the cause of “miseries and conflicts” (269), where man is still the one who suffers.
