The writer argues that technology has the power to improve art. I agree with this idea because like him I also believe that the purpose of technology is to make things betetr including art.
He supports his claim with two reasons. First, he explains that technology provides benefits for people who are not comfortable in communicating with other groups in physical setting. Although the explanation is a bit difficult to understand, because it is somewhat disorganized, I think what the author is trying to point out is that advanced technology offers different medium of communication. Say for example, the rise of social media such as twitter, facebook and instagram allows everyone to post creative photos and express themselves. Technology allows shy people to participate in forum discussions and show their talents without having to experience the awkward feeling of being in large groups in person.
Another reason that he presented in justifying his claim is that technology allows people who are good at painting to carve images in different medium other than the traditional sketching in canvas. The “paint” feature in the computer makes it easier for the painter to sketch his imagined images without worrying about buying different color pastels. It is also economical because he can easily erase the sketch without wasting canvas and paint. Additionally, there are also ultrabook devices that are newly released in the market that has a “touch” feature. Instead of using a mouse, the artist can easily sketch pictures with his hands. Lastly, touch-screen painting is better than the traditional painting with brush, paper and paint in terms of precision, flexibility and financial cost.
