Public health is a critical issue and the main concern of all nations because the health information systems in many countries are not adequate. This drawback can be mainly achieved by the use of eHealth tools, as these tools provide data at a quick rate from various sources. eHealth devices such as the Internet, cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDA’s) and computer resources are continuously being used to understand the health care settings. A combination of technology and computer resources to understand the public health, research and training is known as Public Health Informatics (PHI).
Few challenges posed by PHI are to improve the high-quality relevant content that focuses on disease incidence, immunization rates, research findings and mortality statistics . These challenges must be faced to develop evaluations that are complete enough to provide support for actual system implementation and to offer demanding evidence of results. The special challenge posed by public health IT is that the health data achieves distinctive strategy when stored in computers, for example, the data may reveal the disease, race, zip code, and sexual orientation, but not the name . Developing countries have shown rapid progress using eHealth tools especially in the areas of lab and pharmaceutical data as eHealth projects in these countries focus on medical and health practice.
identified as a foundation for a good public health system. Developing countries require quality-assured medications round the clock for those who need them, and this can be achieved through a proper pharmaceutical management system. For the PHI to be successful in the developing countries, focus must be on a collective vision by adopting broad natural methodology to health, express necessities for global cooperation, start regional health informatics centers, and develop an architecture that can help the countries to strengthen their own health information systems.
