OPTION 2: Problems in Speaking in Front of Live Audience:

When speaking in public, I find myself perplexed and often at a loss of words regardless of how many I might have to share. Hands and feet start feeling cold ad there is a very funny sensation in the abdomen that makes me want to have a seat and let whatever happens afterwards to it. I also feel that due to poor confidence level my voice just is not reaching the last row and that I would be looking really stupid standing and speaking gibberish. I also have half of my mind occupied thinking if I am standing with the right posture and if I am slouching or shaking visibly.

Ways to Conquer the Problems:

Surprisingly I was able to find a very simple yet effective way to overcome all of these fears, anxieties and weaknesses that I have while speaking publically. First is that I begun looking over the heads of people rather than into their eyes. It is not that hard, as I learned to imagine cabbages for people, you soon start believing it is so. The second important thing was to make sure I occupied my hands whilst I speak and holding the hands together is a clear sign of confusion and hurriedness (Jerz, 2009). Holding a pen would result in me constantly clicking it, so that was not going to work out too. I therefore started using hand gestures that with the passage of time started making sense to me. Initially, it was just a simple wave motion of hands from here to there but slowly I was able to align my body language to what I said hence enforcing my point (Speech Tips, 2007).

OPTION 3: The Differences between Persuasive and Informative Speech:

An informative speech does not lead the audience towards a specific direction. Facts and figures about a matter are the prime features that an informative speech has (Writing CSU, 2010). On the contrary, a persuasive speech tries to sell an idea and endorses one of the possibly several aspects and verdicts of a point. The purposes is entirely different from both these speeches as the former one is intended to give information to the audience and is rather general and lot closed for discussion whereas the later one builds argument in favor of the point that is to be proven and justifies the soundness of the point through evidence from real life (Wiki how, 2011).

Can an Informative Speech be Persuasive at the same time?

As for whether an informative speech can be persuasive, yes, but it requires structuring the speech in a manner that it relates the first part with the second. The first part is where the presenter or speaker reviews the facts and figures that are not arguable. The purpose is to make the audience realize the importance of something, and it is then followed by the presentation of the point that is rather arguable but the facts back and endorse it.

Can a Persuasive Speech be Informative at the same time?

Similarly vice versa, a speech can be persuasive by at the same time being informative, but in such a speech the information being delivered becomes quite questionable. Hence, the effectiveness of such a speech is not as high as the speaker would want. This happens so because the audience might not agree with the idea on which the audience is being persuaded, so the following information would hold very little value for them.
