Reading College Textbooks Essays Examples
Yes, I definitely love reading. I strongly believe that a book can take the reader anywhere in the world through the adventures, scenarios, events, and experiences relayed by the characters. In regard to reading college textbooks, my strengths include focusing on areas that are required to be read. There are evident weaknesses in comprehending challenging topics, especially in course modules that are not within my field of expertise. As such, I like to read college books that do not contain a lot of technical terminologies. On the other hand, I dislike books that are too technical and use a lot of jargons.
I try my best to complete the required readings on time. However, due to many personal and family issues that are beyond my control, lately it has been difficult. While reading a college book, I am normally seated at my study desk with my laptop on. Based on the textbook reading for this course, I believe that I manifest a steadfast desire to attain the learning objectives through completing the required readings as a minimum requirement. As such, since personal and family demands keep me from completely reading all the requirements within the stipulated time frame, I need to prioritize my activities and balance personal, academic, and family life.
I usually read early in the morning while the kids are at school so that there are no distractions. I read either in my bedroom so that it is peaceful; or in the kitchen when I really need to focus cause the lighting is more conducive to reading. From my experience in reading college textbooks, I believe I could maintain reading while there are no distractions. In addition, I also have to follow a prepared schedule through time management. The habits that need to be changed include accommodating other endeavors that prop and require urgent attention.
