Romans: What It Means To Me Essays Example
Romans is about the Christians’ lover. Jesus came to take away our sins. I believe that even his sacrifice on the Cross cancelled sins for people all the way back to Adam and Eve. His death and the forgiveness He gave freely to us was, to me, just that powerful!
As I read through the readings Rom 3:21-31, I continue to understand the value of faith to Christian living. Paul stresses that righteousness is provided to Christians by faith. Paul continues to drive that, once Christians posses the required faith, they need to sacrifice their body and die to sin (Roman 6:1-23). According to the TBFD-pp 340, (Bible for the Dummies), Paul continues to stress on these virtues even to the special people in the society. He provides similar standards for treating every Christian. In other verses like Romans 5:1-11, the apostle provides a comprehensive overview on the peace and hope that Christians expect once they live as per the required standards. The apostle continues to stress on the best standards of Christian living on his these chapters.
There was something that stuck out to me---the referrals to the need to keep the body from committing evil. Was this strictly about fornication, or could it have also been about eating good, nutritious food, getting exercise, good grooming, shaving, ironing, etc. Could it be that God would like us to take care of His Temple—our bodies? Certainly going around feeling sorry for ourselves and asking for a handout isn’t treating our minds wisely, either. After all, the mind comes from the brain, and the brain is part of the body.
In conclusion, it is therefore important for Christians to live as the prescribed living standards in order to live holy lives.
