Sample Argumentative Essay On Organized Crime Groups

Organized crimes in the United States have been on the increase in the recent past. There are various reasons that have contributed to the increase in organized crime rates.The media plays a big part in the way people view organized crimes. The media had made people to start seeing organized crimes as the most dangerous and crimes in the world. Additionally, the media through the news and various action movies have associated most organized crimes with politics. This has made everyone to believe that organized crimes are a political inside operations (Siegel and Van, 2003).
The people in the United States are usually unaware of the existence of the organized crime groups in the United States because these organized crime groups are usually secretive. Besides organized crimes are not usually common in the Unite States. Nevertheless, the organized crime groups do not commit common crimes and especially not to the common community people (Schatzberg and Kelly 2007). The crimes committed by the organized crime groups are usually the biggest crimes that are usually associated with business tycoons or political personnels, among many other relevant people in the US society.
The use of theory is useful in explaining the behaviors of the members of organized crime groups because the organized group criminals usually have very complicated behaviors that are very difficult to comprehend. Therefore, the use of theories would explain better the behaviors of the members of the organized crime groups (Hoffman, 2006).
I believe that the domestic organized crime groups present a bigger threat to the society than the groups operating outside the United States because the domestic groups usually blackmail the prominent people in the United State, and if their needs are not met, they pay back, by destroying or hurting their fellow Americans. The law enforcement has for a long time not been able to stop the organized crimes. It is possible that in future, the law will not be able to stop the organized crimes because these crimes are usually regulated from above and in most cases, the law does not have much power to stop them.
