Philosophy has been a challenge especially when it comes to Christianity whereby scriptures meet all one’s needs. I am a staunch believer in Christianity thus taking thus of the view that this is the right view of thought. Philosophy tends to change ones life’s perspective thus interfering with Christianity beliefs. The bible scriptures state very clearly that philosophy are thoughts of few individuals that try to interfere with what people believe and perceive the world to be.
In Colossians 2:8 the scripture says “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ”. In this verse the writer relates philosophy to empty deceit. The world has become a dangerous place to live in and everyone wants people to believe in their opinions and philosophical beliefs. Leaders want to justify their involvement in wars and other worldly vices. Philosophy is based on mere imagination aided by the arrogance of human thinking. These thoughts are supported by traditions that are passed from generation to generation.
In John 3:16, the verse reads “For God so loved the world that he gave is only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not die but have everlasting life”. This verse clearly states on how God whom God what’s us to believe in. believing in fellow humans shall bring failure to humanity since this is not what is expected of us by God. Philosophers want people to believe in their line of thinking which ideally favors their ways and not necessarily the betterment of the society. The verse brings to light that no love surpasses that of God and that only his ideas should be believed and acted upon.
In conclusion, philosophy is a line of thought that a few individuals try to impose to the society that should be disregarded at all costs. This is because some of the ideas are not about to save the world but just to favor them and their wicked ways. The bible scriptures are the only teachings that should be put into practice to ensure that no one experiences the wrath of God.
