This paper will demonstrate individual story which gives an understanding regarding how student gain their experience in learning English. By looking at the past, I remember when I begin studying English in grade 1 it was really hard for me as I was newbie to it and was not native. My teacher started teaching us the letters and numbers and how to pronounce them in an effective way. It was quite hard for me as I used to fail in all quizzes and tests provided that time. My father always showed anger from my education status but my mother was working so hard with me, tried her best so that I can get everything. Frankly speaking, I have studied English since I was in primary classes but I do not think that my eleven-year English would be very effective. On the other hand, English was not my favorite subject. It was introduced by my teacher whereas I was not at all interested in learning English. I never did my assignments of English instead my friend used to do for me.
I remember one thing about learning English that made me interested in poetry is stanza’s that made me think English is much better than other languages. My progress in learning English was quite bad but the way I dealt with the poetry section it fascinates me. That moment I developed the concepts of second language learning and acquisitions. On the basis of my past experiences, learning English is a way difficult that involves the logical thinking and is also considered as a conscious procedure which includes theoretical understanding and practice. Sometimes, I wish I could have the opportunity to be encircled by native speakers so that I could learn something about English from them. Most students in my classroom belong to China and thus, they might not speak English. I have been through all the classes regarding English but the only thing i learned is to forget about grammar. My father always said “In order to learn English well you should actually learn and speak it”. One of the difficulties occur in learning English was that after reading each text in the book I always had an innovative insight after reading the pieces of literature that were uttered by other individuals.
There were many ways of thinking that I had not experienced great stories presented by authors that could surely gave me a greater appreciation to art work which can also be found as unique. During my course in school, I was exposed to advance English that gave me stress of how it can be managed. My teachers taught how to be an effective and flawless reader. She taught me how I can think critically and write academic essays by myself. Furthermore, my teacher has also introduced variety of methods and ways to learn English such as conducting researches, learning journey and weekly independent learning logs. It can be said that I have gained experience through my teacher which made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable and productive.
Normally, my all-time favorite part of the homework was independent learning logs this gave me whatever I wanted to do as long as it was helpful to improve my English. In many cases, I wrote news summaries I listened to and also made an abstract of an English movie. The experience in learning English acquired an excellent idea of poetry. It provided me an important composition which was both pleasure and concerned with truth. In my opinion, poetry provides opportunities and engages me to learn at a number of diverse levels. As I become known with the story, poetry activities provide opportunities to recycle the English language. As part of the understanding English, it was important for me to develop awareness of how poetries are conducted. It was also important to know how I can be able to provide poetry chances to generate poetries.
At the age of fourteen, my experience in learning English is very enjoyable and pleasant. I usually thought that I wouldn’t survive without learning English but as I entered in the college classroom I heard my teacher was giving lecture in English which cleared me that I can understand her quite well. This understanding and knowledge brought me motivation and confidence and pushed me to do the best in order to learn English. Additionally, my teacher works so hard for me so that I can do whatever I want to in future. I can hardly think how much progress and improvement I have made. I think teaching method has made the real difference. It can be said that there are fundamental skills in learning English such as listening, speaking and communication.
Also, in my own case, studying English with concentration and acquisition system is easier. In university, during the semester break, I reviewed my English by reading a grammar book to keep myself known with the native language. Conversely, when I get back to school, I explored that I still have to learn sentences to improve my English. In order to make a point in English, I always take time to explain things in detail as I think that processes and instructions must be well-understood before it perform any task. Now, before every new academic year I revise all many stuff and collect those which I think could be the best in making my English more better as it could be.
