Comparison and contrast

The New York Times has so many sections of news on a daily basis, as compared to the USA Today. If we analyze the New York Times dating January 29, 2015, the front page is reporting about the killing of two Israeli soldiers by a missile in the Lebanon region. The USA, today on its front page, is reporting about a mutilated human body that was packed in a suitcase and left near the Twitter Headquarters. The New York Times is more of international news than the local news as per today’s newspaper. When it comes to other news, these two newspapers are almost the same because they have the sports section at the back of the newspaper. It is also noticeable that The New York Times has the obituaries section where while in the USA Today, there is no such section where death announcement are made.
The New York Times has analyzed sports in-depth giving every detail about what is happening in the sports world whereas the USA Today analyzes sports narrowly. The paper gives few details about sports that it is reporting, and sports lovers are not likely to get what they want from this newspaper. We also have a section where letters to the editor are addressed in the New York Times unlike in the USA Today that does not have such a section. Both newspapers have well-detailed business news that covers the global business market that can be said to be very useful to business people. The USA Today has a bit where they have published an article about health that gives information about living a healthy life while in The New York times lacks health articles. Generally, we can say that the USA Today reports more of local news whereas The New York Times focuses on international news.

We can say that these two newspapers have different audiences because they publish news in different contexts. The New York Times serves an audience that is concerned with getting international news because they publish what is happening outside US on their front cover. Individuals who are also concerned with news about death and funeral announcements can get this newspaper because it has sections that have such kind of information. A reader can also address a letter to the editor highlighting different issues that he or she wants to address.
Sports people also can also get this newspaper because they report all types of sports happening all over the world. National news that is published in The New York Times is mostly about the political situation in USA. It also serves the needs and interests of an audience that loves arts as there is a section that deals with all matters concerning arts. The USA today deals with matters happening mostly within USA so individuals who want to know details that is happening can get this newspaper. It also has health articles whereby people can get information on how to live a healthy life, so individuals who are concerned with health matters can read such articles so that they can get relevant information.
The newspaper also targets individuals who would like to get information about different lifestyles analyzing their benefit and demerits to the readers. Readers who would like to get information about the meteorological and weather can get such information from this newspaper. These two types of newspapers have different audiences and the type of news that they publish serves the needs and interests of their readers.
