Sample Essay On Panting Analysis
The painting that attracted me form the collection of paintings has a title by the name Anguish and was painted by the artist called Friedrich Albrecht August Schenck in the year 1879. Friedrich Albrecht August Schenck was born in Danish and stayed in Paris at his younger age where he studied at École des Beaux-Arts. He took a good number of his working in Paris as he continued specializing in painting animal subjects and landscapes, this made most of his painting to be observed as a symbol for human relationship and the society. Most of his paintings included majorly winter landscape showing sheep that are struggling to survive.
In the painting of Anguish, a courageous ewe stands on the snow with the body of its limp lamb lying between its fore legs. Some blood can be seen trickling from the mouth of the lamb’s and on to a very white snow. They are placed at the center by a collection of threatening black crows. However, the situation seems to be hopeless, in spite of the ewe’s bravery. The first sight on to the painting makes a person to be sympathetic. This is due to the fact that the ewe wishes to save its dying lamb but is not in the position to do so on the other hand; the black crows are waiting for the ewe to go before they start feeding in its dead body.
The art provides the viewers with a contrast as the ewe is crying in a frosty breeze for the lost of its lamb while the black crows are coming in large number preparing for a feast on the dead lamb. Friedrich Albrecht August Schenck has carefully used varied the white color on the painting with the clouds and the ewe given a cream color and the snow given a white color. The painting provides what happens on the real world today, this is to mean that the sorrow of others is a bush for others. And it clearly shows that while others are suffering there are some people who are benefiting from their sufferings.
