Sample Essay On Promotion Of War And Encouragement Of Peace
War is one of the oldest institutions of mankind. Since time immemorial, people readily fought among themselves, killing and robbing each other. However, this recognition does not mean that the war is a necessary form of relationship between people and attempts to eliminate it from our lives are contrary to human nature, and therefore doomed to failure.
Of course, in polemical purposes we can recognize the truth of the militarist thesis that man by definition has inherent instincts of murder and destruction, understanding the evolution of development of man. However, the characteristic features of a person are not these primitive instincts and impulses. Human stands above other living beings because it has a mind and the ability to think abstractly. And the reason that tells man that peaceful cooperation and interaction are based on the division of labor is more profitable than hostility and violence.
Sufficiently to note that in the XVIII century, on the threshold of the modern capitalist era, the nature of war was no longer the same as in the days of barbarism. People no longer fought with each other for the sake of extermination or enslavement of the vanquished. War became one of the policy instruments and were relatively few professional armies, mostly consisting of mercenaries. During the war it had to be determined which dynasty will rule the country or province. Major armed conflicts in Europe of XVIII century were the wars for the thrones: the Spanish, Polish, Austrian and finally Bavarian Succession. For ordinary people, the outcome of these confrontations was not actually important. They were not worried about who will be their suzerain: the Habsburgs or the Bourbons.
