M3 Assignment: Epic Heroes

Odysseus and Aeneas are imperative epic heroes in the Roman and Greek literature. Both of them have played a significant role in The Aenied and The Oddessy. But, Odysseus is more heroic as compared to Aeneas because Odysseus has shown wiser behavior and attitude. The ways of doing things of Aeneas and Oddessy are different. Aeneas is, however, impetuous and concludes the things without bothering to think about the facts. But, Odysseus uses to plan the things before arriving at the conclusion, he also has better planning skills, whereas, Aeneas does not focus on planning the things out, and he jumps rapidly into the things. Odysseus remains captive by the Gods, and is also helped by them, such as he seeks help from the God of wind. The imprisonment plays an important role for Odysseus, and taught him several effective lessons to move forward in the life. Aeneas does not remain captive so she leans little as compare to Odysseus. Odysseus is more faithful to his wife than Aeneas, which can be elaborated from the fact that Odysseus ultimately returns to his home to his wife, while Aeneas leaves his wife to die, and saves his old father. Aeneas act indicates the Roman culture with this act where women are considered as slaves of men. The Roman just has glory in the universe. Odysseus represents Greek culture and present Greeks as diligent nation, who believes on the hard work in order to ensure the progress and growth of the country. Further, Odysseus faces more challenges and fights as compared to Aeneas. The fights of Odysseus are complicated with he fights in an heroic manner, but the fights of Aeneas are not very difficult.
