I am interested to pursue a master’s degree in real estate because I consider it as my passion. By enrolling in this program, it will give me an opportunity to learn more about my real estate and obtain the proper training that will hone me to become successful in the field I have chosen. I am currently an Account Executive for BET Networks. I entered this position when I was 21 years of age, while the counterpart next to my age was 37. I am proud to say that I was able to successfully generate over $100 million in advertising revenue for the company I work for. I am very hardworking, persevering and dedicated to my profession. I also made sure that I do not waste any of my time by becoming productive and seeing to it that the funds and proceeds from revenue generated from sales was involved in real estate. Armed with these qualities, I am confident that I will be able to excel more in the career I have chosen.
I have always been intrigued about real estate during my younger years at the time when I learned about the Great Pyramid and Roman Coliseum. I am deeply awed by these remarkable structures that are considered global works of art that have withstood the test of time and left an infallible mark in our society. In the year 2010, I decided to take advantage of the $8000.00 home buyer credit that was offered by President Barack Obama, as well as the FHA mortgage program, which enabled me to purchase my first property which was a three-unit grey stone building. After doing minor repairs, I was able to rent out two of the units and the proceeds I received eventually paid for my mortgage, while I stayed in the first floor unit.
I believe in my exceptional talents and qualities such as resourcefulness and commitment to my craft, to be considered an ideal candidate for this program. I want to undertake a major transition in my career from media sales and go full time in real estate. I am confident that the years of experience I earned in sales has sufficiently prepared me to enter the field of real estate development. I have learned and mastered the art of persuasion, which is vital for every real estate developer in dealing with the public and private sector funding. Additionally, I believe that a real estate developer should learn to do multi-tasking, and I have proven this by generating sales presentations, and making proposals for television and digital formats.
The primary goal I intend to achieve after being accepted into this specific program is to have a portfolio of commercial buildings and residential apartment complexes. I also want to develop and build senior living communities and eco-efficient homes. I had experienced my first taste of real estate at the age of 15 after I was hired by my father to work on a house he was building. I recalled that it was during that moment that I realized that I experienced the overwhelming feeling by just nail shingles on the roof. For me, I consider it as an opportunity to learn the best thing in the world by building homes for people and making a greater impact in a the lives of the people.
