Personal Statement

My interest in business studies and management dates back to my early years in school. I found it amazing how people could manage trade and other transactions, establishing contacts and business relations with each other. I was always good at logic and mathematics that are those subjects that are important for a businessman. After finishing school, I thoroughly considered my personal and professional ambitions as well as my personality and skills. I made the decision that business is exactly what interests me and what I see as my vocation.
My academic background mostly concerns business as the main field of study. In 2013 I entered the Lebanese American University with my major being Business Studies. The main specialization is management and I find it very interesting and informative. Learning process at the University is an absolutely new experience for me because it allows focusing on what really makes me interested in and curious about. I like sharing ideas and opinions as well as learning the basic details and finding out details about management in business. I truly enjoy studying and I would want to proceed with my education in this sphere. Also, in 2015 I completed London School of Economics Summer course that persuaded me even more that I am on the right way towards my profession.
I am lucky that I have a choice what country to choose for my further education. Studying in London, I fell in love with this city and the United Kingdom, in general. I believe that studying Business Management in the country which was at the forefront of the industrial revolution and possesses an exceptional entrepreneurial spirit will be both unique and beneficial experience for me. The British Empire became a cradle of industrial development and early technological progress that truly transformed the world. It demonstrated the highest level of support to entrepreneurs and managers that became a cultural component of business activity and still contribute to the country’s success. That is why, for my Pre-Master’s course, I apply to one of the best educational settings in London that, undoubtedly, can provide me with the most required skills in the field of Business Management. This course offers students fundamental knowledge which is required for proceeding with my education in London.
King’s College attracts me with the opportunities and the level of knowledge that it offers. It is famous for its multiculturalism and wonderful learning environment for the youth. Business Department is definitely one of the best and most prestigious in the setting, with the professors being great theorists as well as practitioners. I believe that this all creates perfect conditions for studying and exchanging experience. I believe Business Management will sharpen my analytical skills and broaden my mind that would be useful for any business activity to be successful. Expertise and skills gained at the College may provide me with many options for proceeding education and advancing career ladder in the selected field.
My working background may seem poor, but I took lots of things from several internships that I had. They took place at my father’s brokerage company in Beirut, Lebanon. There I was taught business discipline and culture. I understood that a good management team is very important for any company. Dedication and commitment of workers are the achievement of leaders and managers who apply all their talents and efforts. I admire my father because has been in the insurance business for more than 30 years. He is a true professional in his field and I hope one day I will be a specialist of that level in management. His experience is not limited to only Lebanese insurance market: he also worked for British companies throughout his career.
Therefore, I am willing to put lots of efforts for being accepted to the best university. I understand that it may take time, but for this ambition I would risk losing one year. As a British citizen of Lebanese origin I feel connected to Great Britain and my dream is to build my career in London. I think that my personality is adequate to be a good manager. I am passionate and I believe I have all required personal characteristics of a successful businessman. I am ambitious, purposeful and straightforward. I am curious about different things and have perfect observation skills. Also, I have excellent communication and leadership skills so that I can lead and manage people as well as set goals and target people towards the main priorities. I am very well-organized person; my reputation and commitment are of exceptional importance for me. Diligence and hard work are the main features that define my attitude to studying and career. I have perfect time-management that comes from my respect to my own time as well as that of others.
I am looking forward to face all the opportunities and challenges that the Pre-Master’s coarse can offer me. I hope that it will help me achieve those heights that I wish for myself.
