Information and communication technologies have altered the manner of educational practices and interactions. Focused around business, the information and communication technologies have been implemented in the private and public realms and are widely utilized in educational institutions. This has developed a situation wherein information and communication technologies impact all stakeholders in education including students, parents, and teachers. Even though knowledge sharing and information communication are transforming conventional principles of schooling, the adoption of ICT in educational institutions is said to be inconsistent. Research posits that, notwithstanding the barriers, mobile and online learning is recognized as the best and the newest form of educational practice to remedy the struggle of accessing quality education.
The current trend of ICT development is designed to regulate and organize the administrative responsibilities of the school as well as other organizations. The use of the digital media has been evident in music and marketing aspects (Helding, 2011).Integration of ICT strives to establish a learning community among the partners and stakeholders. Technology in education offers students with information literacy, technology literacy, capacity for skills needed in today’s workplace, and capacity to obtain life-long learning.
Technology aids in preparing students for a world where they will contend with the brightest individuals. Some contend that students of today, surrounded by technology from the time they were born, vary essentially from past generations of students in the educational system of the United States was intended to teach. Setting in technology in the classroom uses the devices students are used to outside the classroom. This also engages the students more in the learning process.

An increasing body of evidence presents technology as an effective tool for addressing various educational goals, requirements, and needs. Educators have recognized the links between goals and technology that result to high achievement, such as engagement, attendance, improved behavior of students, enhanced opportunities for professional development, improved communication, and increased classroom efficiency.
Legislators taking into account investing in technology for education must be aware that an investment in software and hardware is not sufficient to result to enhanced student accomplishment. Government legislators and educators are calling for restoration of funds for the computer databases that can monitor the students’ and teachers’ performance (Song, 2011). Effective implementation is as significant as the technology, and there are conditions that facilitate effective implementation. The objective of making use technology should be to accomplish already recognized educational objectives, and should be supplemented by a teacher who is proficient enough to incorporate technology into instruction and teaching, and strong leadership that guarantees effective implementation and deployment. Sufficient amount of technical support and the proper school infrastructure such as enough access to bandwidth and computers, are likewise significant conditions that will guarantee the positive impact of technology on student achievement and learning.
When information system and policies are well structured and implemented, digital content as well as other resources of electronic learning can aid in meeting the intermediary objectives that can result to enhanced student accomplishment. Technology in education can help engage students via interactive content and multi-media; strengthening one’s thinking and understanding skills through exploration, creation, and collaboration; adapting to aide personalized or differentiated learning for students having certain learning pace, needs, or style; keeping accurate information and knowledge; improving accessibility for learning disabled or physical disabled learners via assistive technologies as well as content presentation in different modalities; and integrating classroom management and testing, thereby enabling real time tracking of performance to provide accountability and inform instruction.
Information systems and policies bring diverse and rich materials to the classroom. Through the use of sophisticated software, learners are able to gather and analyze data that enable them to obtain learning in a meaningful manner. Technology likewise has the capacity to alter the dynamics of space and time in schools. By assisting students work independently, information systems and policies provides educators greater time to work with small groups of learners. Evaluation of technologies likewise aid teachers efficiently in recognizing the weaknesses and strengths of learners to better direct instruction. Technology likewise enabled parents and students to obtain increased opportunities for customizing, individualizing, and giving access to education via distance or virtual learning.
