Introduction

The cultural diversity in Brazil is remarkable and I long to travel there one day, and witness it with my own two eyes. Their culture is considered to be one of the most diverse and varied in the whole world. The diversity arises from the numerous nationalities that were brought into the country during the era of European domination. Slavery also brought a lot of migrants into Brazil, who had an impact on the local culture by introducing their ideas and customs. It would be wonderful to listen to the music that is enjoyed by the natives during their uncountable festivals.
I am quite sure that each individual has their own dream destination. A place since childhood you have longed to visit. That is why am sure all of you relate to my desire of travelling to Brazil to have a taste of their culture. My ambition has led me to carry out vast research on the nation. The research I undertook continues to increase my thirst to travel to the country and live the dream. In this article, I will relate the reasons behind the rich culture that Brazil boasts of. A combination of human, cultural and natural factors supported by a good economic background, infrastructure and modern cities make the nation an icon internationally.

Discussion

Sectors like small businesses, traditional art and craft, designing and fashion are key elements in Brazil. They have the capacity of changing the conditions of poor people in a country because they bring self-empowerment, hence, poverty reduction. Culture has a strong influence in the transformation of social inequality in the nation. History about the culture of Brazil shows that the European settlers and African migrants brought belief systems, ideas and innovations in the local society (Cited by Sapiezinskas, 2011). These influences have ensured that the culture in Brazil is complex and unique. Currently, the country is inhabited by almost 190 million people. Out of this, half consist of white people, 40 percent are half casts of black and white and 10 percent black. 80 percent of the people worship under the Roman Catholic denomination. Catholic faith is rampant because it was introduced by the colonialists, the Portuguese. The missionaries taught the traditional communities Catholicism, established customs and traditions emanating from the faith and built churches (Cited by Sapiezinskas, 2011).
The Portuguese language is official in the country. However, there is a small fraction of the indigenous people who speak their natural languages. The nation focuses on family structures and the norms that emanate from the institution. The families are close, involving even the extended relatives into the circle. There are social classes that are brought about by money and skin color. Dark individuals are the most disadvantaged, together with females. Brazilians express a lot of affection and are tactile. Women peck each other on the cheeks as a greeting while the men prefer shaking hands.
In business situations, entrepreneurs first get to be familiar with their partners before indulging in business dealings. Brazil has interesting etiquettes, for instance, over-dressing when invited for any occasion or meal. It is considered inappropriate to look casual or under-dressed for an event. It is crucial to take a gift when you are invited to express gratitude. The gift should not be in color purple or black because they are called mourning colors. It is also essential to arrive early for the occasion. During business deals, most of the owners prefer interacting with individuals as compared to companies. Women should always look good and perform a manicure for any function (Sapiezinskas, 2011).
Brazilian music varies depending on the area it is practiced. Rio de Janeiro is noted for Samba and Bahian has an African touch to its rhythm. The African touch is witnessed in their religion, rituals and fight dances. Brazil holds annual festivals such as the Samba Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and the Folklore Festival in Parintins. The festivals are home to indigenous legends, rituals and traditions. Cultural diversity is also evident in the architecture. In the south of Brazil, there are little homesteads for the European settlers. All over the country, there are colonial cities and villages characterized by charming churches, colorful buildings and narrow streets.
Ouro Preto, is one well-known colonial city. The city is located a few kilometers from the capital city. Other colonial cities are Party located in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Luis in Acantara and Pelourinho. Artists create diverse areas to exhibit modern culture in different areas, for example, the capital city, Brasilia. Since the colonial times, the country’s national dish has been fejioda. Brazil also has traditional candies eaten in parties such as, beijinhos and brigadeiros. The country’s native drink is Cachaca, made from distilled sugarcane (Sapiezinskas, 2011).
Internationally, the nation is the leading producer of coffee. The plant is cultivated in the rich and fertile Brazilian soil, hence, its mass production. Brazil is also known for its paintings, for example, cave paintings of Piaui that date back to the early times. Notable works of architecture and sculptures have attracted attention from all over the world. The country is divided into five administrative sections: North, North-east, Central West, South and Southeast. The sections make it easy for censuses to be carried out. The Northeast is known for its massive African descent, the southerners are Brazilians while the native people leave in the North and Central part.
However, the government has identified that racial heterogeneity is the cause of Brazil’s backward trend. The government advocates on immigration of Europeans. Their main aim is to whiten the country to foster more development. The government has three branches: judicial, legislative and executive. Voting is compulsory and universal for all those who are over eighteen years. The government is not strict when it comes to observing the laws and practices corruption. The citizens come together to reject the unaccountability and impunity of public officials.
According to Sapiezinskas (2011), Brazil needs to look at the tiny loopholes that are present to change their stability economically, politically and socially. For instance, more needs to be performed to maintain the indigenous traditions, culture, knowledge, land and rights of indigenous people. The UNESCO office in Brazil is in charge of solving the problems that arise from cultural diversity. This indicates that the people in Brazil are patriotic to the nation and do their best to promote peace and economic stability. People tend to ignore the laws because they are made from outside intervention. All that matters to them is doing the right thing and keeping a common attitude.

Conclusion

Thus, citizens of the country are pragmatic. They live on idealistic laws and divergent practices to maintain a social contract of common good. This characteristic enables them to switch easily in the different codes of culture, consisting of traditional norms, machismo, paternalism and social values that favor equality. Nonetheless, it is safe to say that the cultural diversity in the country is amazing and they should strive to maintain it. Besides the rich culture, Brazil boasts of beautiful beaches, natural attractions and sources of entertainment. This are the reasons I crave to go to Brazil to see the wonders stated in my research. I would appreciate every single moment I spend in that country; regardless of the length of time I stay there. I am looking forward to one day travelling to see this great nation and living to tell of the experience, that I will cherish. To anyone who shares my dream, I am optimistic that it will come true for each of us.
