Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness (Acts 6:18, KJV)

Paul, in his ministry shared a lot about slavery. In the readings, we realize that he had no issues with slavery and in fact agreed on the fact that each person is a slave of some sort. The distinction is only made on the things that a person desires to be slave to. For instance, before a person is born again, they are unconsciously making a decision to become slaves to sins. This means that their flesh will always crave for the things of the flesh and desire to live a sinful life. However, once they make a decision to give their lives to Christ, they are declaring their servant hood to righteousness. A person therefore has two decisions to make, to either become a slave to sin or become a slave to righteousness.
Paul was an apostle that encouraged people to live a righteous life which could only be obtained by obeying Christ. Hr considered that there is a lot of freedom in following Christ considering the sacrifice he made on the cross. However, obtaining such freedom comes with certain bondage, godly bondage. This is where a Christian makes a decision to be a slave to Christ and hence righteousness. This means that that he will follow and walk according to the commands of Christ. Being a slave to righteousness means that Christ is your master, you need him and without Him, you have no sense of purpose or worth. A person who looks unto Christ, even though bound to him, obtains a lot of freedom since Jesus will always want that which is good and best for them. Sin defiles and corrupts the mind and heart of a human being, yet righteousness comes with a life of hope and peace.
