The Coca-Cola Company happens to be a beverage company, which manufactures and distributes coke and other soft drinks in the market. It offers nonalcoholic drinks ranging from sparkling to still beverages. Sparkling beverages include nonalcoholic beverages with carbonation such as carbonated waters, flavored water, and energy drinks. The still beverages include nonalcoholic drinks without carbonation such as noncarbonated waters, noncarbonated energy drinks, flavored and enhanced waters, sports drinks and ready-to-drink teas and coffees, and juices and juice drinks. It also produces flavoring ingredients, sweeteners, fountain syrups and beverage ingredients and powders for purified water products. Coca-Cola Company also licenses its technologies to third parties including its suppliers. It sells its products mostly under Diet Coke, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Coca-Cola light, Fanta, Powerade, Minute Maid, Dasani, Aquarius, Ayataka, Del Valle, Georgia, Schweppes and Minute Maid Pulpy brand names. It distributes its products through a network of Company-owned or controlled bottling partners, wholesalers, distributors and retailers (Yahoo Finance, 2015).
The company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, was established in 1886. It operates through seven main segments, which are Eurasia & Africa, Latin America, Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, Bottling Investments and Corporate. The Europe segment is mostly engaged in developing and implementing packaging strategies in order to react to consumer requirements through the readiness of family packaging and first-time packaging and advancements in energy drinks group. The Latin America division attributes its growth from the FIFA World Cup activation, expansion of other beverage categories, accelerating market investment levels and affordability strategies. The Eurasia & Africa segment is mostly engaged in supporting the 2020 vision of delivering broad-based unit case volume growth for the year. That is mostly in areas of East and Central Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, Turkey and Southern Asia. The North America segment engages in building strong brands through well-defined brand, package, price, and channel strategy. The Asia Pacific segment engages in maintaining and growing its portfolio of markets and brands with the right strategies (The Coca-Cola Company, 2015).
