Introduction

Technology has taken a center stage in our lives and even the lives of organizations. As an organization, we have to match the technologic changes that are rapidly taking place in the market. If not, we might lose out greatly. It is our mission as a collective unit to fight entropy of this company otherwise it might be bad for us. Therefore, the technology we should use should be up to date. Technology might have its effects on the organization, but it is primary to our success. Therefore, the technology we wish to adopt will be architectural compliant. It will match the needs of the organization in terms of information control and the user interface easy to comprehend and use. The sole mission the new technology being brought aims to achieve is to minimize operation costs by rendering jobs easy to perform in the organization.
Technology is the core for an organization to meet the criteria for competition in the market today. Without technology, the organizations would still be having smaller profit margins (the difference between capital and income) because of inefficiencies. With technology, operation costs are greatly minimized which increases the profit margins of the organization. Therefore, with many organizations coming to the realization of this, it has become a key requirement for the success of organizations. However, this factors in the issue of standards of the technology. The technology we intend to institute in the organization’s operation system will be of high standards in relation to the set standards in the industry. It is important that we earn the trust of our customers if we are to be the best organization. To earn their trust, we can start by upping our standards beyond that of our competitors(Deiser, 2009).
We all comprehend that for change to successfully gain roots into the culture of an organization, support is a key component for this. Therefore, all levels in the organization structure should be on board the plans we intend to implement. Through the support of the entire organization, there is guaranteed co-operation throughout the organization. Smooth operations will be the order of the day as we implement the new technology that will save us the time that we would have used if there were the lack of support(Deiser, 2009). That time can be invested in even more fruitful ventures of the organization. As the team that implements the change, we will show our support by ensuring that every member of the organization can use the technology without problems by ensuring that we institute a help desk specialized to deal with internal problems the members of the company have with using the technology. The services provided will include call assistance, email, and even desktop support.
Local talent will be used to successfully implement the technology where local means that the implementation steam will consist of several members of the organization because of their understanding of the organization so that there is no need for orientations that will save the company more time. As a development preference for the implementation, we prefer that we buy the facilities first before implementation. This will help in keeping the exercise well within the budgetary allowance. The technology will also bring to check the security and privacy policies of the company so that it can be reinforced and enforced in the operation of the technology. The service levels for all the systems of production, as well as their availability, will be clearly jotted down to enable the members of the organization to assist themselves when stuck.
Being at the forefront of our line of production, IFG has an impressive level of technology(Govindarajan and Trimble, 2013). However, the standards are changing outside there as technological advancements take place rapidly. This is an outcry for the organization to embrace better technology to retain its top position in the market. In addition, the customer tastes and preferences are rather dynamic, and it is up to us to ensure that we keep up, or we may be soon unable to impress our customers and stand to lose out greatly. The management of IFG clearly agrees that the taste in the technology they use as a tool to maintain a relationship with their customers are rather dry and might fail to attract youths to be customers to IFG. Therefore, we have to upgrade our systems to fill the niche presenting itself and ensuring that we benefit greatly from it.
A loophole (gap) that exists and has not been tapped into adequately by IFG concerns the market strategy it has employed for its products. It is important that the company makes the public aware of the products it products. The products of IFG have been commonly been advertised to mothers who have children only which is the cause of a rather limited list of potential customers. With women who have children not being the largest group in the country’s population, there are still many more potential customers for the company’s products such as the youth. Therefore, factoring in the fact that the preferences the youth have are quite different from those of the women, the company’s marketing strategies need a makeover. We have to find out what the youth love and in that way we can easily tailor our products to meet their tastes.
Adopting this new technology should not be the end of the improvements that the company intends to make. In fact, the company needs to have a way of knowing the changes that are taking place out there. Not being aware of this is dangerous as it increases uncertainty in the organization. Uncertainty is a dangerous factor in business operations. Therefore, the organization should know of the technological approaches its competitors are utilizing so that it can match them in terms of productivity. To achieve this, it is important that once the new technology is in place, the IT department will have to take up the role and maintain the technology adequately. As an advantage, the technology we intend to put in place is of high standard and guaranteed to be operational for a long time with the need of very little maintenance.
Therefore, the IT department of the organization can shave off the maintenance costs from the maintenance budget and the funds used in setting up a technology adoption program. The program will be run by a few carefully selected members of the organization who will be expected to identify new technology in the market so that they can try test, scale and assess the business value of each(Rahman and Ramos, 2012). The most viable technologies are selected and used for improvements in the organization. Through such a venture, the organization can be ahead of its competitors in terms of technology. The organization can also back up this venture by factoring it in the budget so that it can become part of the company policies and objectives. The strategy will be useful in enabling the company maintains its position in the market as the best in its line of industry and one thing that can define a company of such status is the best technology.
The future should also be a priority for the organization and about the future, what should be of concern is the security of the future. The security of our future is important because no one is willing to see the fruits of his or her labor evaporate into nothing. That can be damaging. Therefore, as a strategy to ensure that the future is a safe place for IFG, we endeavor to ensure that it should be secure in terms of technology. In the future, the technological needs of the company will have changed and so will our priorities. However, in the future, the company will be able to implement new computers that will be able to use the new wireless network with a larger bandwidth. Therefore, the employees in the organization can easily work from home giving a chance to more flexible work designs increasing their efficiency and in turn their productivity.
In terms of the customers, efficient communication channels will be present for use by the support department in that the relationship between the customers and the organization will be emboldened by use of greater bandwidth to facilitate use of video conferencing and effective use of social sites to keep in touch with the customers. The fact that we intend to use the social sites to attract the youth to be our customers, it demands that we have to be fast in our responses to their questions and request for assistance. Our fast responsiveness will go a long way in increasing our effectiveness and responsibility to our clients giving credibility to the company’s image. Embracing technology is an idea because it is a successful strategy for minimizing operation costs and increase profit margins for the organization. Therefore, utilizing it as a guarantee of a safe future is a viable strategy. With the assistance from the technology adoption program, the company will be up to date with the latest technology for use in operations.
The trend in our markets today is that companies are now more concerned with maintaining a relationship with their customers so that they can easily advertise their products to them. Therefore, they can control large shares of the market(Rahman and Ramos, 2012). It is mandatory that our objectives march along these lines. The new technology being set up endeavors to meet these objectives and to do so, we target changing the orientation of the company so that it is more service-oriented. Through this, we deal with our clients on a personal level but a professional platform. We ensure that our customers get our utmost attention by ensuring that whatever complaints they make are addressed immediately. In a nutshell, the customer is our priority. Through maintaining our customers, we stand to gain because we will be sure of a market for our products and probability of getting more is high.
Being servants to our customers will be a dominant objective but not the only one. Other development procedures can be laid out but the one the technological advancement the company should keep an eye on is the service-orientation policy. Currently, the organization is more product-oriented rather than customer oriented (service oriented). The company is concerned with getting more customers for its products, but that should change once the company has acquired a level of customers that can maintain its sales. At this stage, the organization will be able to improve the quality of its products because it has to maintain its customers. Therefore, as a preparation for the future, communication will be a valued factor in the production because of the customers. The current technology being implemented to increase communication will be modified as time progresses to increase its objectivity.

Conclusion

Technology is an essential aspect of any organization and IFG is no different. To maintain its success, it should endeavor to strengthen its technology as a move to secure the future. The future will be more competitive because most, if not all the organizations, are enforcing strategies to get more customers, and that is exactly what IFG is doing. By attracting the youth, the company is increasing its customer base. In the future, if the company implements proper strategies as suggested in this roadmap (creating and maintaining the one-on-one relationship with the customers through increased communication), it might not need to seek fresh customers in future. It will have a secure customer base and will have shifted its orientation towards being a service oriented company.
