According to the article, many new companies in the market prefer to hire the services of new employees with exceptional abilities due to the upswing of the economy. The implication is that these new employees add to the group of new individuals in the companies hence the organization has to spend more money in terms of training and acquainting them. Most of these companies desire to reduce the amount of time and financial resources spent on inducting the new employees into the organization. Social media can play a crucial role in reducing the amount of resources spent in the induction process by facilitating the process of professional networking.
After hiring a new employee, the human resources team should encourage the new employee to join social media groups used by the current employees. It will help in the onboarding process because such groups allow and facilitate close virtual relationships where the new employee may feel free to interact and ask questions about the organization. In the end they, they end up learning about their takes and processes involved, which lessens the work for the officers inducting them because they many always get the concepts right in practice.
Social media makes the process of learning individualistic and centered on the specific roles of the individual. In the virtual social groups, they are free to ask any questions regarding their duties and the rest of the members will be willing to explain it to them. Social media helps to create connections where formal and informal relations may exist for the benefit of the organization. It can also be used as medium of communication and seeking clarifications.
