There is an increasing difficulty in coping with the frantic pace established by Rob. He presently works for more than 80 hours a week with inclusion of weekends. He would prefer to work in the in the restaurant rather than spending most of his time in the accounting. Rob’s family has developed disgruntle because he never found time for them. However, Rob believes that the premises must improve on productivity for a sustainable productivity, considering the welfare of the staff.
Evaluation of Alternative Solutions
Rob can opt to take no action in addressing the problem. For this case, the problem will remain or worsen. Alternatively, Rob can choose to sell the premises due to the continuous decline but this may leave him jobless. He can also relocate his premises to a less expensive location that more subjected. The employees may not be willing to comply, and the action may be costly. In conclusion, he can increase the revenue through adverts and increasing products cost or decrease the expenses by improving on the inputs.
The Solution for Preference
Based on the principal aim of the hotel on profit maximization, the preferred solution is that which decreases the expenses and maximizes the revenues. The preference is, therefore, ethical for the business.
Implementation Study
Reduction of the expenses would require addressing the employees to raise an alarm for them on the condition of the premises. Revenue increment would be achievable if Rob advertises the hotel services effectively through the local advertisement agencies like websites, radio ads, and beaches Newspapers. Mobile delivery of the services should need consideration and addressing.
Evaluation
Evaluation of the premises should be sequential, maybe after a month, and then three months, six months and finally a year. The first month focuses on the effectiveness of the changed working techniques, new advertisements, and mobile services. The other intervals would examine whether the achieved goals are similar to the target and address any upcoming matter. The expansion plan would require consistent follow-up. Collectively the measures would achieve the goals of Rob’s premises.
