Thomas argue that the materialist assumption of mind tends to exclude the important elements of consciousness, for example, he asserts that there is something that seems to be or appears to be like a particular conscious thing. An organism possesses conscious mental status; Thomas claims that if there is only some-thing that it is seemed to be like that organism, then some-thing it is like for the organism. Thomas’s assumption has been considered as the most widely influential and cited the opinion experiment concerning consciousness. Physicalisms also assert that Thomas’s philosophy serve to describe complex events, especially social, mental or biological events.

The concept of Monadis Leibniz’s assumption of his metaphysical idea, in which he mentions that the world is formed of infinity of simple substances known as monads. Leibniz agrees that this is common a prior, which is features of his rationalist opinion. Leibniz’s argument is that nothing in nature is accurately identical and that there are no two (2) substances that can resemble each other and differ only in numbers.
