Type 2 diabetes is the most diagnosed type of diabetes in the world. Majority of diabetes patient suffer from type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes affects all age groups and both genders. However, women who are thirty years and above are at a very high risk of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. According to recent studies, approximately 10 million women in America have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Women from the Native American communities, for example, the black American, Latinos are more likely to get type 2 diabetes unlike pure American women (Vroomen-Durning par.1).Type 2 diabetes simply means that the patient has too much sugar in their blood.Symptoms of type 2 diabetes Individuals with type 2 diabetes will show signs of high levels of water and food consumption (Webmd par.2). Other symptoms include dry mouth and hand numbness. They will also appear weak and tired most of the time. Their visions will not be very clear. They will contract infections and sores that will take a long time to heal (Webmd par. 2).How type 2 diabetes affects women Type 2 diabetes affects reproduction of women by causing yeast infection or even worse it can lead to infertility. Pregnant women that suffer from type 2 diabetes are more likely to have difficulties during childbirth or deliver overweight children. (Vroomen-Durning par.3).
How to prevent type 2 diabetes One can reduce the chances of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes through lifestyle changes that include diets and exercise. Studies have shown that individuals who incorporate exercise and healthy foods into their lifestyle are less likely to get type 2 diabetes (National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse par.6). Taking a walk of thirty minutes can make a significant difference in one’s life, similarly to eating food with low-fat concentration. It is equally important to research for information about type 2 diabetes on the internet or by speaking to the doctor.Objective Development The aim of the above information was to let the reader know the health condition, which is type 2 diabetes, the audience, which are the middle-aged women. I also mentioned the most affected ethnic background of these women. This section is important because it informs the patient who the target group of this information is, their age, and what type 2 diabetes means. The fact that an individual may be a woman does not automatically mean they will have type 2 diabetes, this is because it affects everybody including children only that the female body is likely to be damaged more than the rest. Consequently, in this regard, I chose type 2 diabetes because it very characteristic and the highest number of diabetes patient have type 2 diabetes.Accuracy of Content This element it helps the write give only the relevant information or talk about one health condition and not two or three so that the reader cannot get confused. I have written about type 2 diabetes and did not include type 1 diabetes or any other type of diabetes.Use of active voice Active voice helps to communicate effectively to the readers and use few words as compared to passive voice.Use of plain language/word choice Additionally, I use very simple and clear language that anyone can easily read. I avoided words that will discourage those who are not familiar with terms used in the health sector.Sentence structure
Sentence structure helps to arrange words in a way that the reader will understand the report easily. I have used good sentence structures, which are grammatically correct.Use of interaction This element helps to keep the reader engaged and feels that the piece of information was written specifically for them. I used questions in the subtitles to engage the readers.Layout and design The importance of this element is to help the reader understand all the information by using a design. I divided the information into different sections so that even if the patient is looking for only a particular part they can easily get it.Partitioning of complex information/chunking This element helps to put similar information in one group, using subdivisions. I used different sections to pass information about type 2 diabetes.Reading level It is important to make sure the information caters for patients who are illiterate and those who are literate. I used simple words and also I used English, which is the official language in the United States of America.
