Business ethics encompasses a vast range of moral principles that sprout in a business surrounding. Business ethics specifically comprises individuals’ actions in a firm and organization’s activities and position on moral issues. Companies embrace business principles by going green via producing organic products, taking social responsibility through improving local economic conditions and offering services to people in need.Additionally,company’s employees can ensure good moral business decisions by non-disclosure of their client information, being honest and not stealing the company’s capital.
However, globally many companies have failed to embrace ethical business principles. For instance, Uber has embraced unethical business decisions by humiliating their rival, Lyft, by violently robbing drivers, disrupting its fund-raising and ordering and calling off more than 5,000 sham rides. Additionally, Uber executive had blackmailed the journalists who damaged the brand image of Uber that they would face it rough by being exposed to the public for their past or recent bad things. Moreover, this company admitted it could trace any of their existing clients through a special tool called “God View.”
Another company, Facebook had as well embraced immoral ethical issues by controlling a half-million Facebook fans’ news feeds by changing the number of positive and negative posts .This company had treated human beings as unaware creatures.
Snapchat has phone numbers and user names of as many as 4.6 million accounts of their clients in their database. It breached the privacy policy by revealing these critical clients’ confidential information which is against the business ethics. Google as well breached the privacy policy of their clients by simply ignoring and infringing the non-disclosure agreement. In conclusion, embracing moral principles can provide immense benefits to both internal and external stakeholders of the business.
