Thus, the term civilization is derived from the roman word that entails city. The term denotes a society that comprises of cities and the cities further comprise of individuals living and acting in a joint and coordinated mandate through coordination and interaction. On the other hand, individuals living within singular, small units within an individual mandate do not entail a city or civilization. All in all, civilization comprises of social cooperation which is contrary to the notion of individualism or the concept of rugged inde3pendence that denotes survival of the fittest. Civilization entails a joint survival through holistic or joint action. It is through civilization that provision and improvement of life prevails. The various facets of security, material or resource abundance, arts, culture and possibility of both individual and holistic happiness prevail through civilization. Individualism is amore archaic approach that leads to the competitive and survival approach among animals. Thus, from the onset of intelligence and advance in reasoning among humans, civilization became the building block towards biological advantage. The socialization, communism and cooperative sharing among the individuals are some of the facets that emanated from civilization. Progress, advancement in the mode of life is some of the facets that became the building block towards a plausible civilization mandate. Hence, the various aspects that became the foundation of civilization include:

Plausible and central governments: the emergence of civilization led to the prospect of development and expansion of cities. As such, the food and the irrigation system required maintenance. Thus, the need for proper structures for the management of the city resources. The evident governments such as councils, religious leaders and so forth were used towards overseeing the societal management of the individuals and resources.
Cities: the growth of interactions among farmers in the rich fertile river valleys led to the emergence of surplus production food. Through the growth of excess production of food, culminate growth in population led to the growth of settlements. The settlements grew and developed into large cities. The evident cities such as Ur and Babylon are some of the earliest civilizations that grew as a result of surplus food production.
Social classes: the growth of cities led to the emergence of jobs and specialization. As the growth of specialized jobs proceeded, so did the emergence of status and needs have given individuals. Concurrently the evident thirst for education and knowledge among the religious leaders led to the disparity in skilled and the unskilled individuals. Furthermore, there prevailed disparity in resource ownership which led to the differences in classes. The slaves were the lower class and the leaders took the top position within the class structure.
Complex religions: as the civilization took root, the emergence of religious leaders became evident. The religious leaders were responsible for the diverse ceremonies directed towards appeasing the gods and ensure bountiful harvests. The floods and droughts were either blamed on the gods or individuals that had done evil did. Within the diverse civilizations, there were evident temples or places that were regarded as holy and the rituals could be conducted by the evident religious leaders.
Job specialization: job specialization denotes a highly imperative aspect as the cities emerged. Admittedly, individuals had to play diverse roles towards the growth and development of the cities. The complexity of the civilized regions led to the emergence of artisans, craftsmen, medicine men and so forth that were construed towards accomplishing specific tasks or roles. Individuals could not do all the work. Thus, specialization and concentration on specific tasks became evident. Scribing, stone cutting and so forth became the foundation towards the growth of cities.

In the growth of early civilizations, there was disparity in various aspects. The diversity mainly emanated from the cultural facets of the individuals that came together to form the large cities, specialized similarities were evident. Thus, the various factors that differentiated the early civilizations included:
Language factors: The early civilizations were highly dependent on an effective communication towards accomplishment of diverse targets or goals. As such, effective communication emanated from similarity in language or communication approach. Thus, as a differentiating factor, language was imperative and necessitated a plausible avenue for individuals within similar communicative avenue to ensure social interaction and cooperation towards the growth of the cities. Thus, language as a determinant factor, it was imperative that communication prevailed towards mutually beneficial outcomes.
Technological factors: technological factors denote the level of development in regards to the tools and techniques towards accomplishment of a given task or activity. Thus, from the examination of the early civilization, there was disparity in regards to tools, level of technical knowhow and so forth. The disparity in technological growth denoted diversity in the weapons, agricultural tools, architecture and so forth. The evident disparity was a determinant factor towards the growth of the different cities and the strength or power of the cities.
Social factors: the social factors entail the societal norms, rules and so forth that determined the social interaction within the civilization. Thus, in the diverse cities there were disparity in norms regarding gender interaction, social caste interaction and the family structure. Most fundamentally, within the social structure, the family was viewed as the most fundamental structure. Through the family structure, the social system was developed effectively to meet the civilization needs.
