Psychology and Sociology are both applied and academic disciplines and are greatly related to each other. Both fields are linked to human, culture and society, and they both require research for their progress. Research involves carrying out a systematize process to raise knowledge regarding any field and to create novel applications.
Psychology basically includes the scientific learning of behaviors and mental functions. It explores the function of mind in social and individual behavior using scientific research in biological and physiological processes. Its objective is to understand individuals and groups of people for the benefit of the society. It utilizes research to make particular cases and general principles .
On the other hand, sociology is the study of social behavior. It also involves the study of the behavior’s basis, progress, foundation and association. Sociology requires different research for practical investigation and important analysis to establish a well-built learning of order, disorder and change in the society. Research is also important for a sociologist to apply the said knowledge to social wellbeing and policies and to understand social processes. Social research assists educators, social workers, lawmakers and politicians to resolve general social problems .
Research is indeed important for the fields of Psychology and Sociology. Research is needed to ascertain or verify data, endorse the outcomes of earlier work, resolve new or current problems and support theories. Its procedure entails discovery, documentation, research and development and interpretation of systems and procedures for the development of human understanding. We need to know human behavior and the explanation that oversee such behavior. The research procedure creates new knowledge and deepens our understanding of subjects and issues .
