Women at Work Equality versus Inequality
Question 3
The piece of writing intends to inform the society of the challenges women experience in any working environment as compared to their male counterparts. It has further outlined the problems facing ladies in any profession field as an outcome of the dual responsibility a woman has to play. The problems facing women in the society is a real issue as outlined by the authors. The text has ensured that practical examples are used to challenge the audience on what happens on a daily basis. Some of the reasons for inequality like discrimination, glass ceiling, stereotype, and balancing work and family make the arguments championed real. The information that was being gathered also based on the field work conducted where people gave their opinions on what is the real issue affecting them. Every aspect of the survey also used recognized statistical analysis programs that facilitate the credibility of results. The percentages in the particular survey tallies are also in a considerate proportion to enhance accurate results are obtained (Eagly & Carli, 2007).
Question 4
The article made conclusions based on one area of the social factors affecting employment. Most of the interviewers were of different academic levels and ages. The issue of those who are employed without any academic papers has not been deliberated upon. Some industries only require experience that has been acquired to either run them or work in them. The article failed to recognize that not only men discriminate or have stereotypes to women but also other women perceive the same characters. The challenges affecting women are also initiated by their physical capacity to perform. Certain tasks are dangerous upon working in their environment especially for a female person. The recognition of that aspect also needs to be established by the article since you cannot force a lady to perform a given task that requires a lot of physical power. Logistics towards promoting equality have to be approached using precautionary measure as the society is gradually changing and the positions of administration are already occupied (Alkadry & Tower, 2006).
